3D Visualization and Simulation for Laboratory Automation

Compared with manual experiments, laboratory automation is very different from equipment and operation, and many people find it difficult to understand what their own laboratory automation system is like and how it operates. In order to solve this problem and let customers more intuitively understand the various details of laboratory automation, Beijing Huarui launched a visualization and simulation system based on 3D vision for laboratory automation.

Through this tool, users can select and drag and drop various devices into the virtual laboratory through the mouse to design their own laboratory automation system.

At the same time, it supports the control of the movement of various equipment, such as to taking the plate from the equipment for robot arm, and opening and closing tray for reader. The software can record each action, so that the entire system can be simulated to conduct experiments.

Through the simulation of laboratory automation, users can more intuitively understand the details and operation of the system, so that customers can more easily accept the laboratory automation system. At the same time, it can help engineers check the potential risk of the automation system, and improve the success rate of the system

Currently this software support following devices:

  • All types of robot arm, including industrial robots, collaborative robots, and SCARA manipulators. Support hand motion and gripper simulation, support functional grippers such as grippers and pipettes, and support various parameters of the gripper, such as gripper direction, gripper height, retract direction, and distance.
  • Various experimental equipment. Supporting the drawer and lid movement of the equipment
  • Supports other laboratory equipments, such as tables, computers, printers, chairs, etc
  • This simulation tool can also simulate all the movement and details of hardware like liquid handling workstation. We have applied it to our Hamilton STAR development kit, and help the kit achive 3D simulation run for Hamilton STAR.
